Popular Nigerian Rapper, Ycee Is Fast Losing The Juice

The last time Ycee had a hit single was in 2017 with the single Jiuce ft Maleek Berry, it has been over a year and there has no ‘hit’ song from the Jagaban stables, even juice remix ft Joyner Lucas was a flop, I’m sure most of y’all didn’t even know it had a remix.
Oluwatimileyin Alejo made his entry into the Music Industry with ground shattering single ‘Jagaban’ prior to this he had Condo ft Patoranking.
The single caught the attention of the YBNL boss ‘Olamide Baddo‘ who then jumped on the remix making it a bigger hit appealing to both the posh and the ‘street’. And while some thought it couldn’t get any better, he proved critics wrong with ‘ Omo Alhaji‘ accentuating him as a force to reckon with in the Music Industry.
Ycee further strengthened his reputation by wining the headies ‘rookie of the year’ award and his name was everyone’s lips even though he wasn’t getting any huge features.
Later in 2016 news surfaced that he had inked a deal with Sony Music which would see to getting him known globally but this deal birthed nothing significant, months later we heard he had a fall out with the label and many was hoping he would bounce back the way Davido did when he left Sony.
Fast forward to 2017, Mr Eazi came through and was taking over leaving almost no space for anybody else.
Every other artist was working hard to meet the demands of their fan base while some were chasing international recognition. But Ycee was nowhere to be found as his singles had little or no impact. 2017 ended and nothing was heard from the ‘Jagaban’.
In 2018, he released Late night vibrations with his label mate Bella Alubo but the singles failed to hit the spot and with this, Ycee relevancy started to decline.
Over 100 artistes releases new materials everyday in a highly competitive Music Industry and only few who are consistent and carved a niche for themselves are the ones hitting it big but nothing seems to be working out for Ycee.
It’s 2019 already and Ycee has released singles like ‘My Side‘ and ‘Balance‘ and even went further to launch his own label but none of his singles is getting the attention they deserve, probably because he is making little or no promotional effort.
We really hope Ycee bounces back soon enough and deliver smashing hit singles and prove doubters wrong.
