UNIBEN to reopen February 1
The management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) on Tuesday directed students of the institution to return to campus for the commencement of the 2019/2020 academic session.
The UNIBEN Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, who announced the resumption date in a statement, said the institution would commence physical and online classes on the said date.
She directed the students to resume at their halls of residences on February 1, noting that only students who had obtained official UNIBEN receipts of payment of school charges and had successfully filled, submitted, and printed out the online questionnaire required of them would be allowed into the halls of residence and lecture theatres.
The university’s spokesperson also reminded the students to bring along face masks and sanitizers to protect themselves against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ehanire said: “Furthermore, students residing in UNIBEN hostels are expected to have, at least, five washable face masks and two 5mls vials of hand sanitisers each, while the generality of staff and students are to constantly wear their face masks as the COVID-19 protocols will be strictly enforced by the university.”
